Culture

In Cedarville, you can escape from the rat race to enjoy the hidden gems of small town living.  Enjoy nature at its finest by biking on the Ohio to Erie Bike Trail or hiking the nearby Clifton Gorge.  Dine at the Historic Clifton Mill and take in a theatrical production at the downtown Cedarville Opera House.

Cedarville University and Cedar Cliff Schools provide a vast array of family friendly activities including athletic events, musical concerts, and dramatic plays that every age can enjoy.

Values

Cedarville has a rich heritage of timeless traditions that have been woven into the very fabric of its history.  Every Labor Day, Cedarville hosts a weekend long celebration called Cedarfest that features a community parade, great food and events, and a firework display that rivals the 4th of July.

Another annual tradition is the Little Town of Lights, a December event that brings the community to downtown Main Street for music, food, and fun. Residents coordinate their outdoor lighted decorations and also compete for the best display. There are also hay rides, a live Nativity scene, photo opportunities with Santa Claus, outdoor caroling, and samples of local cuisine.

Hear What People Are Saying

The ‘Ville has been a great place for our family to live for over 40 years. Excellent schools, home church, fun community, opportunities for service and many, many friends. Close enough to Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati to meet every need; sports teams, museums, zoos, shopping, eating out and recreation.
Dick Walker, Longtime Resident
The heart of this quaint, urbane community comes from its rustic, learned people. This delightful mix of old-world values and cosmopolitan flair is why I love living and raising a family in Cedarville.
Taylor Minor, Owner, Stoney Creek Roasters
I love Cedarville because Cedarville represents quality in every way; quality of life, quality of education, and quality of family. It is a safe place for children to learn and grow in an environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still close in proximity to plenty of activities and cultural programs. Cedarville truly has it all.
Chad Mason, Superintendent, Cedar Cliff Local Schools
Cedarville, Ohio, is everything America should be. It’s a community of neighbors looking out for neighbors and it doesn’t get any better than that.
Bob Fudge, Cedarville Mayor
Fresh air. A great school system with traditional values. Safe streets. Taking a park hike five-minutes from home. Having a nationally-acclaimed bike trail system near the center of town. Dark night starry skies, Christmas with fresh white snow, and the friendly smiles from folks you might not even know. These are some of the many reasons our family loves Cedarville.
Stuart Zaharek, Owner, Hearthstone Inn & Suites
